DESCRIPTION: Stairwell Books have published nearly 40 women writers (hundreds, including anthologies and magazines). Commitments, distance and cost make gathering together impossible. Women can however support each other through the internet. In this lively Zoom session chaired by editor Rose Drew, some of Stairwell’s authors will share their work and ideas. Whether a new or veteran writer, you’re invited to join us and take part in the discussion afterwards.

SEATED MASSAGE IN SUPPORT OF IDAS (women only)

Cost: Free / voluntary donations on the day towards IDAS (see below). No need to book, just turn up.
Access: Access ramp to venue, but toilets are not yet accessible.
DESCRIPTION: Experience the relaxing and uplifting effects of a short (15 minute) but effective mini massage through clothes and find out more about local organisations: IDAS (the largest specialist charity in the North supporting people affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence https://idas.org.uk) and Your Good Health York (an integrated health space in Fulford). All women welcome.
We want to encourage people to arrive in another way than by car, as there is no parking on School Lane for extra cars. There is a handy bus stop outside St Oswald’s Church on Fulford Road, or opposite – outside the doctor’s surgery. There is bike parking at the Social Hall next door. There is a ramp for access at the entrance to the Scout Hut.

Access: Both entrances to Priory Street Centre are wheelchair accessible, automatic entrance doors, gender neutral accessible toilets and baby changing facilities, gender neutral toilets and separate urinal toilet, hearing loop and individual handheld loop equipment provided if required. DESCRIPTION: Join The Hygiene Bank York for a conversation defining period poverty and exploring its effect on people in our local community. You’ll hear from panellists as we aim to raise awareness while finding solutions to the problem of period poverty and its impact on girls, women and menstruating persons. The event will allow for open discussion and the sharing of ideas and resources so we can help #EndHygienePoverty.
