Thinking Decolonially through an Intersectional Lens

The Centre for Women’s Studies, University of York, held its Inaugural Annual Lecture on International Women’s Day this year.

We were delighted to welcome Aftar Brah, MBE and Professor Emerita in Sociology at Birkbeck, whose lecture ‘Thinking Decolonially through an Intersectional Lens’ drew on her decades of scholarly and activist work around many vital issues, including gender, race, nationality, and sexuality.

The lecture was recorded and a link will be available here soon.

The Centre for Women’s Studies at the University of York, UK, is a long-established base for feminist research and post-graduate teaching, and long-time supporter of YIWW. We will celebrate our 40th anniversary in 2024/25.  Find out more about our research, degrees, and events:  https://www.york.ac.uk/womens-studies
